(Belated) Zakynthos Round-Up

Hello hello, and sorry!
I know I haven't posted for a very long while! I've been super busy with work experience, but I've finished now and am having a few weeks off before I head back to uni!

I thought I'd share with you a few of the pictures from my holiday, which feels like it was so long ago at this point! The tan is fading all too quickly for my liking!

I spent 2 weeks away with my family on the beautiful island of Zakynthos. It was the second time we'd been to the Greek isle and it was just as lovely as I remembered! We had some amazing weather and some beautiful food.

See the pictures below for some of my favourite meals, sights and outfits.

Where I Went

We stayed in the town of Alykes, at the Koukounaria Hotel, which is great for families. Set on the edge of the town, the view of the surrounding mountains is simply stunning.

View from our balcony and poolside. We had such lovely weather.

If you go to Zante, I would definitely recommend going on a boat trip of some description. This visit we went on a trip to see the turtles...okay one turtle, but nonetheless!

The trip also took us to some beaches and caves that can only be accessed by boats. These were absolutely beautiful and we were able to swim in the clearest water! One of the Keri caves had a beach inside it, unfortunately I didn't have a waterproof camera to get any shots :(

What I Ate

One of our favourite restaurants in Zante, The King Prawn. Based in the town of Tsilivi this restaurant specialises in seafood. Honestly some of the best fish I've ever tasted so if you like seafood his is definitely one of the best places for it! We stayed in this part of Zakynthos the first time we came and made a trip back to the town just for this meal. That's how good people!

I had the salmon with rice and roasted veg. I can't recall what the sauce was but it was delicious! The salmon as beautifully cooked.

My sister and I shared this gorgeous chocolate pudding with a molten middle and homemade ice cream. Lovely!

Another restaurant that we went to was the O Paradisiako in Alykes, with great views of the canal, the averna's name means "Traditional". The food itself was lovely and I particularly enjoyed my meal of stuffed chicken with tomato and feta. I love it when a dish is simple enough to recreate at home, this is definitely one I'll be trying myself!

On our final night in Alykes, we ate at the Lino Bistro, which was the restaurant at the Koukounaria. I had the smoked salmon tagliatelle with cream, which was yummy but quite rich.

For dessert, again my sister and I shared a caramel pannacotta (one of my favourite puddings), which was so light and creamy. Perfect!
